MOGADISHU – Roadside explosion targeting Somali military vehicle has killed at least two government soldiers in Afgoye town, about 30 km south of Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
The explosion hit the military convoy in the town, killing at least two soldiers on board, a witness said.
“I saw bodies of two soldiers who were taken on board by their colleagues, shortly after the explosion. The blast also damaged my shop”, he said.
The bodies of the soldiers were taken into capital, according to security sources.
No group claimed the responsibility for the Wednesday’s explosion, but Al Shabaab carried out similar attacks in and out of the capital over the past months.
