MOGADISHU (Garsoor Online) – Somalia Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire is set to visit Baidoa town, lies about 245km northwest of the capital, Mogadishu.
The main point of Khaire’s travel is said to be assessing the dose of droughts hit in areas of Bay region where at least 110 people including children died of hunger.
Mr. Khaire will meet South-West State leaders, and key issues relating to droughts will be discussed, sources tell Garsoor Online via phone.
Heavily armed Somali police and African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops are visible on main streets of the town, before the PM’s arrival.
This is the first trip since Somali parliament voted Hassan Ali Khaire as country’s Prime Minister.
