MOGADISHU – Four people have been killed and four others including children wounded when mortar rounds ruined down on residential houses near city’s airport in Mogadishu.
Friday’s shelling was aimed at targeting the heavily fortified buildings near the airport in the capital, according to a witness, who asked to be anonymous.
The victims are said to be among a woman and children, he said.
In the aftermath of the mortar attack, security and police soldiers started operations to hunt down the culprits, who carried out it.
No group has claimed responsibility for the shelling but Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab militants often carried out such attacks in the capital of Mogadishu.
