Somalia: Five KDF killed in explosion near border town

MOGADISHU, Somalia, (Garsoor Online) – Deadly roadside explosion has killed at least 5 Kenyan troops under African Union mission (AMISOM) near border town, rebel group said.

The armed group of Al Shabaab claimed to have killed KDF troops and burned down of its military vehicles near Dhamase town in Somalia’s Gedo region.

It also said several others soldiers had been wounded in the blast.

The victims were taken by their colleagues into hospital inside its army base in the region, the group’s statement reads.

Hundreds of Kenyan army forces have been seen in the town, shortly after the bomb explosion and reportedly launched an operation.

No arrests were made by the KDF troops over the bomb attack.

The armed fighters of Al Shabaab have carried out similar bomb attacks and shootings that killed more than 100 people in towns in Kenya.
