GARBAHAREY (Garsoor Online) – The armed group of Al Shabaab fighters have launched an operation in parts of Barwako area in south of Somalia’s Gedo region.
Seven people including 2 women have been arrested by the militants in the search operation, according to residents.
The crackdown followed a day after senior Al Shabaab commander identified as Abdullahi Qanas was killed in an attack by government troops in the area.
The detainees were forcefully taken from their houses in connection with the murder of its commander, sources said.
Somalia army says it would launch tough operation in the region and vowed to set free those unarmed civilians from Al Shabaab insurgents.
