Islamists re-take key town in Somalia

BADHADHE (Garsoor Online) – Heavily armed Al Shabaab fighters have taken control of Badhadhe town, situates about about 200km south of Somalia’s coastal town of Kismayo.

Earlier on Tuesday’s morning, the town was captured from the militants by Somalia army and African Union troops from Kenya, along with US especial forces, AU mission said.

The coalition forces with battle-wagons have moved towards Kulbiyow area near the town, according to local residents.

Earlier clashes between both sides have purportedly killed at least 2 soldiers and wounded a civilian man, who was nearby the war-zone.

It is not the first time that armed group of Al Shabaab re-captured the town as Kenyan forces under African Union mission in Somalia vacated from this town last year.
