“I was sleeping but immediately awoke from it when I heard heavy gun shots between Somalia army and police troops and Al Shabaab fighters”, Hassan Hussein, a witness tells Garsoor Online.
The government troops reportedly withdrew from the town over the ambush attack and moved to African Union (AMISOM) troops’ camp outside the town.
It could not be independently verified the exact number of casualty.
In an online statement, the group said it had inflicted heavy loses upon them [government troops] during the assault.
