ADADO, Somalia (Garsoor Online) – Two people have been killed and seven others wounded after police and security forces from Galmudug State, have exchanged heavy gunfire in Adado town in central Somalia, police and witness said.
The wounds were said to be among 4 security soldiers and 3 police officers, a witness, who asked to be anonymous for reprisal attack on his life, tells Garsoor Online via phone from the town.
Tuesday’s skirmish flared up when armed forces loyal to governor of Galmudug State, Abdikarim Hussein Guled, launched an attack on building where State lawmakers had meeting.
He added that police soldiers started clashing with security forces as they [police] were guarding the building that the meeting was ongoing.
“Police soldiers are still controlling the area, because they repulsed the attack on their base”, Mohamed Hassan, another witness said.
The gun shots were reportedly subsided, police officer said by phone.
Tension mounted high, as local residents expressed concern about the renewed clashed in the town of Adado in central Somalia.
